What is Bubble Tea?
Bubble tea is a tea-based drink originating from Taiwan in the 1980s. The term “bubble” (also called boba or pearls) is coined from the chewy tapioca balls that are commonly added as toppings to the drink; however, it is not the only topping that is used for these drinks. From the options of fruit tea to milk teas, there is a wide range of combinations available to try!

Though the name has tea in it, the category of these drinks are not limited to just tea-based drinks! Lemonade, milk, soda, etc - the fun is the ability to get creative with it!

I’m new to bubble tea, what should I order?
Everyone has their favorite drinks, and we’re confident that you can find yours too!

A great starter milk tea is the classic black milk tea with pearls.

A great starter fruit tea is the mango fruit tea with mango jelly.

Currently, all ingredients are sourced from Taiwan!

What is the shelf life of your products?
Jelly: 6 months
Powder: 12 months
Syrup: 12 months
Tapioca Pearls: 3 months

How do you prepare the drinks?
Every order will come with a Toki recipe card (unless you opt out of receiving one to save paper). Basic instructions and measurements are detailed for your convenience.

Are your ingredients vegan or gluten free?
All our fruit syrups, jelly toppings, crystal boba toppings, pearls, fructose, and tea bags ARE vegan and gluten free.

The milk tea powders and non-dairy creamer are NOT vegan or gluten free.

Is your reusable cup heat resistant?
Yes! Our reusable cup is made of Borosilicate glass which is heat resistant. Not to be confused with “unbreakable” as it is still glass, so make sure to be careful and take caution when handling.

How do I brew tea?
Put 1 tea bag into a cup then pour 12 oz hot water (not boiling) into the cup. Let steep for 5 minutes. If you’d like to have a stronger tea flavor, let the tea bag brew longer.

If making multiple servings of tea, add the appropriate number of tea bags to the same ratio of hot water to be brewed.

How do I cook my boba/pearls?
Cooking instructions are on the back of the tapioca pearls bag. If you threw the bag away, we have the steps listed here for your convenience:

1) Proportion of Pearls to Water is 1 to 6. (i.e. 50g pearls for 300mL water)
2) Boil water in a pot, then add raw tapioca
3) Bring heat to LOW and cook for 25 minutes slightly covered by a lid. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking
4) Take pot off the heat, cover pot with lid completely, then let sit for 35 minutes
5) Rinse with cold water & drain
6) Place cooked tapioca into a bowl or cup with your choice of sweetener (we recommend our brown sugar syrup, fructose, or honey). Let sit for 15 minutes before adding to your drink!
7) Best served within 4 hours after cooking

When will I get my order?
Please allow 1-3 business days for processing and 3-7 business days for shipping. High demands during holidays may delay delivery due to the carrier.

How much is shipping?
Shipping is calculated based on delivery address and size of order. In order to view your shipping cost, please preview your cart!
Free standard shipping is available for all orders over $75 within the U.S.

Where do you ship?
We currently ship within the U.S. and Canada.
We are working on opening up shipping to other countries - keep an eye out!

We accept order cancellations if requested within 1 day of placing the order. Submit your request to tokitea.us@gmail.com with your order # and name.
